Andrew Carnegie Fellows

Congratulations to the Andrew Carnegie Fellows class of 2019!

Each year the Andrew Carnegie Fellows Program awards grants to a select group of extraordinary scholars and writers whose groundbreaking work decodes some of the world’s most intractable problems. The stipends — often referred to as the “Brainy Awards” — support individual research, writing, and scholarship in the humanities and social sciences, work that can be applied to solutions that benefit us all.

Since the program’s inception in 2015, fellows have produced a wide range of important titles addressing urgent social issues, including bestsellers like Timothy Snyder’s On Tyranny and Masha Gessen’s National Book Award–winning The Future Is History: How Totalitarianism Reclaimed Russia, among others. The Andrew Carnegie Fellows program proudly builds on Carnegie Corporation of New York’s long track record of support for serious scholarship of the highest caliber.

Help celebrate the class of 2019 with our social press kit.
